User Guide

Overview

The "Show My Personalized List Views" UI Action is a list context menu action in ServiceNow that opens a new tab or window displaying a list of personalized views created by the current user for the specific table being viewed. Similar to the "Show Form Sections" tool, it helps users quickly check their custom list views, showing an empty list if none exist.

Steps to Use

1. Navigate to a List View

  • Log in to your ServiceNow instance.

  • Open a list view for any table.

2. Access the Context Menu

  • Right-click on the list header (e.g., on the column headers like "User ID" or "Table") to open the context menu.

  • Locate and click Show My Personalized List Views (ASI) (with an arrow icon indicating a new tab/window).

3. View Your Personalized List Views

  • A new tab or window will open, displaying a list of personalized views (from the sys_ui_list table) that you’ve created for the current table.

  • The list will show details such as the view name, associated table, and user (yourself).

  • If you have not created any personalized views for the table, the list will be empty.

4. Analyze Your Personalized Views

  • Review the list to identify any custom views you’ve created for the table.

  • Use this information to manage or apply your personalized views, or confirm that no custom views exist for the table.

Notes

  • The tool specifically queries the sys_ui_list table for personalized list views created by the current user for the current table.

  • If no personalized views exist for the table, the list will be empty, which is expected behavior.

  • This UI Action does not modify the table or views; it only provides a view of the existing personalized list views.

  • It’s particularly useful for users who frequently customize their list views and need to verify their configurations.
